The length of time any film will play at Regent Cinemas is based on the amount of business the film generates, contractual obligations and time of the year. Basically, the more popular a film is with patrons, the longer it will play. There is no way to predict exactly how long a movie will play. Use our website to get information on what films will be playing up to five days in advance.

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to play every film released because we do not have enough screens. Our programming policy is to present films of distinction to audiences of discernment. You can expect to see a mix quality arthouse and selected mainstream movies all year round and we do focus on kids and family titles over the school holiday periods.

Every film and computer game has to be classified before it can be legally made available to the public. Some publications also need to be classified. There are limited exceptions to this rule. The Classification Board also decides what consumer advice should be provided with each classification. Consumer advice is designed to let consumers know which classifiable elements (for example violence, sex, coarse language, themes, drug use and/or nudity) have led to the classification decision. Consumer advice helps you make an informed choice about the material you, or those in your care, choose to read, view or play.

Once session times are listed on our website, tickets can be purchased online in advance of the film's opening. We recommend for the most popular films, during the weekends and holidays, that you plan to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the advertised start time or drop in during the day and purchase early.

Once session times are listed on our website, tickets can be purchased from the box office or online, in advance of the film's opening. We recommend for the most popular films, during the weekends and holidays, that you plan to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the advertised start time or drop in during the day and purchase early.

Purchasing tickets in advance guarantees you a seat for each ticket purchased, however, we do not have allocated/or reserve seating policy for all sessions. Highly popular films will generate longer lines as shows sell out quickly. We recommend you arrive 15-20 minutes before start time so you can select your favourite seat.

Gift Cards are available from our Box Office and valid for 12 months from date of purchase - no restrictions. Gift Cards are available in set amounts of $20, $35, $50 or $100 for regular cinema and $35, $75, $100 or $150 for Gold Class. Please see our Ticket Information page for further information.
